This past weekend we went to Utah to attend Richard's mission reunion and spend some time with his family. Well the exciting news from this past weekend is that Richard got his first deer

WITH OUR CAR!!!!! Yup, that is right we hit a deer coming home from Richard's mission farewell on Friday night. Let me first back up and tell you that on the way to the reunion some random guy backed into us at the gas station. He was a very nice guy who left his information with us should we find something wrong with the car. On the way back we were driving up Highway 6 (Spanish Fork Canyon) and going about 50 MPH. There was a deer and his/her buddies that decided to jump out in front of our car. Luckily there was just one deer in our way. It was either hit the deer or the oncoming semi (we chose the deer). In the words of my grandpa, "You gotta hit the damn deer." That we did, we hit bambi. Actually it was a big bambi. I was just grateful that we were okay. Richard was good and kept his head on straight and hit the "damn deer" straight on (without swerving and rolling the car). Actually, we hit it with the front right of the car. We take the car to the doctor to get fixed today. Thank goodness for Richard and thank goodness for insurance, and thank goodness Heavenly Father sees fit to keep us around longer!!!!
P.S. This is not the first time I have been in TWO wrecks in ONE day! Back in the summer of 2004, I was rear ended 2 times within 20 minutes. Lovely. Who on earth gets in two wrecks in one day....TWICE??

Your car situation is very unfortunate, and I am glad you guys are okay, but seriously, I laughed my head off when you wrote about Richard getting his first deer. That is horrible!
That way sucks. You're lucky Richard is so smart. Not sure what I would've done. But I can tell you from now on... I will hit the damn deer.
Scary! That definitely puts a damper on the weekend. Thankfully no one was hurt! Glad you all are safe!
*gasp* I'm so glad you guys are okay!
Two wrecks in a day -- Twice. No that is not something I would want to brag about. Glad all are OK. Kathleen
