Weekend Getaway!

So this weekend we had TONS of fun! We went to the Jazz game on Friday night. It was seriously so much fun. Especially since our tickets were 16 rows back so they were GREAT seats. My personal favorite at the game was DEFINITELY David A singing the national anthem!!! He did a GREAT job . He is so cute and definitely a popular kid. He is TINY! Especially compared to all those ginormous NBA players. I mean come on, they make Ronnie Price (at 6'2) look like he had a growth problem.

David A also sat the section next to us, so I had a great time spying on him the first half of the game (he only stayed through half time). I also gave Richard a play-by-play of his every move=) I think Richard's favorite of the game was watching Kobe fall flat on his face and turn the ball over to the jazz at a CRITICAL moment of the game.

That night we stayed at his parents house. Okay, I loved staying up there but I didn't get too much sleep. I am not an animal lover (cat lover) and I don't really like sleeping with them. Richard has this BIG huge FURRY cat named Pounce. Pounce LOVES Richard and insists on sleeping with him. I do NOT like sleeping with animals. The whole night I couldn't really sleep because I could feel the cat moving around and then he would jump on and off the bed and then I was kind of freaked out that he would jump on me, mid-slumber! That would just REALLY startle me, and as previously mentioned, definitely not a cat lover. Then at 4 am the roosters start crowing. It was definitely fun to stay out there, but didn't get much sleep that night.

We got up and went on a horse ride. IT was so much fun!!! I am a little sore, but not too bad. I have decided that I do not want to live in the city with next-door neighbors RIGHT next door. I would rather have a little land (5-8 acres). I like my privacy and I think it would be great for my future kids to grow up in that kind of setting. It would teach them to enjoy the outdoors, and also there would always be work to do. I really do think that type of thing instills a great work ethic in kids. PLUS, it is SO nice to go outside and have room to move around. I currently live in a tiny apartment and it is really hard. I can't just walk outside and hang out...well, I can, but I would be hanging out on the sidewalk with all the millions of kids that inhabit the neighborhood.

My reality!

Anyway, great weekend, LOTS of fun and I am excited to house sit while Richard's parents go to Europe! I have already given Richard the ultimatum though...when it comes to sleeping - it's either ME or POUNCE=)

Jazz Game...Nice. I love your that the rooster woke you up. I hate visiting my parents, because they still live on a farm. I grew up on a farm, but the only difference is now their rooster is crazy so it crows all the time. 2:00 am 8:00 pm. POunce is out I suspect.

Are you sure you want to take care of that much land and house? One small house is a huge pain in the rear as it is. Just be rich enough to pay someone else to take care of it :)

Jazz vs. Lakers would be a great game! How fun. Tell Richard it's you or the cat ;)

I am so with you... I am not a cat person, and I don't think I could handle sleeping with one. My sister was at the same Jazz game. She is a David A. FREAK! She is totally obsessed, and she's not a teenager, she's 32 and has 3 kids. Anyway, sounds like a fun weekend.

Sounds like a great weekend and I think I would have been more interested in David A than basketball too :-)
